YUKO LIGHT
In Japanese mythology and in animism, it is said that each creation in nature carries a soul or a spirit.
That trees, rivers, plants, rocks and animals, has a certain conciousness.
They don't speak in our frequenzy, but coexist in harmony with eachother.

Yuko was born from this idea.
Not to create an object, but a reflection of the invisible spirits in nature.

The shape is inspired by fossilized sea urchins.
Sea urchins fascinate me, and embody the fact that nature doesn't strive for perfection, but for balance, variation, and harmony.

In animism, the spirits of sea urchins still remain in the shell.
Each piece is slowly created through 3D modeling, 3D-printing, then finished by hand through careful paiting.
No two are the same.
Like stones shaped by water, or shells in the sand, each shell finds its own expression.

When unlit, it has a matte ceramic look, almost like a small relic.
But when it glows, it reveals something else; a vibrant presence rather than a function.

Nature is filled with spirits and poetry.
Yuko is a silent servant here to show us.
